habe durch Zufall gesehen, dass auf der Homepage von Caloundra (Sunshine Coast) verstärkt Werbung für deutsche Touristen gemacht wird.
Fahre seit mehr als 20 Jahren dort hin und hab die Veränderungen miterlebt. Es haben sich immer schon gerne deutsche Einwanderer hier niedergelassen. Jetzt nutzt aber die Stadt Caloundra ganz offiziell eine Dokumentation von SAT 1, um Werbung für ihren Ort zu machen.
Einerseits muss ich sagen, ganz schön clever, aber andererseits hoffe ich, dass nicht Deutsch zur "zweiten Amtssprache" dort wird.

Caloundra backdrop features in German documentary
Caloundra on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast will be in the international spotlight next month following the completion of a documentary to be aired on Germany’s largest privately owned television channel.
A television audience of up to one million Germans will follow the experiences of the Maureschat family as they settle into a new life in Caloundra.
Channel Sat 1 has been filming the documentary about the Berlin family’s emigration to Australia and plan to run five reports over consecutive mornings.
The program, in its second season, has a viewing audience of up to one million and the film crew will return in about six months to record how dad Matthias, wife Heidi and their children Janice, 11, and Jorina, 3, have adapted to their new way of life.
Around 20 hours of footage has been recorded with more than half of it in the Caloundra region highlighting experiences such as buying a car, opening a bank account, and finding accommodation, while also showcasing the natural scenic beauty of one of Australia’s most popular holiday destinations.
Matthias visited Australia five years ago and decided then that he liked the lifestyle and employment opportunities so much that he wanted to emigrate.
He says the Internet helped discover more about the delights and attractions of Caloundra, with wife Heidi finding links from the Caloundra Tourism home page very useful to locate information about accommodation options.
“We have found Caloundra to be a beautiful place that has many opportunities, and everyone is very friendly which has been a big help in settling in to a new country,” Matthias said.
The family was not too fazed by a TV camera in their lives for eight days in Caloundra.
Matthias laughs when he says that with so many relatives back in Germany, the documentary is just perfect to keep in touch with everyone without having to write or telephone.
He is also looking forward to Caloundra’s year-round blue skies and sunshine in contrast to the six months of winter in his former homeland.
Caloundra Tourism president Mike Wilkinson welcomed the unexpected exposure for the region.
“Germany is a nation known as great travellers and has tremendous potential for tourism spin offs for the Sunshine Coast with German speaking tourists to Australia representing a significant visitor group,” Mr Wilkinson said.
“The exposure to a new audience of this size will certainly stimulate interest from German travellers and potentially encourage them to build our region into their itinerary when visiting Australia.”
