1983 Toyota ‚Layla’ HiAce Commuter
This is it. We had hoped to keep this car forever, but sadly we can’t.
Obviously, we are looking for a new owner that loves her as much as we do and can enjoy her company.
Some features:
- 2.0 litre petrol engine running on about 10-12 litres per 100 km
- SA rego until July 2010, easily extendable via internet
- 345.000 km on the road, new engine and gearbox since 280.000 km
- 5-gear manual transition
Apart from that the car comes with
- A 1000 Watt amplified sound system! with subwoofer and audio input for iPods – really blows your head away, but that’s what we wanted anyway!
- seats for 4 to 5 people and sleeps 3 to 4 guys easily (more girls probably)
- oversized bed in the back complete with several sets of linen and pillows
- 2 surf boards & a skimboard
• 7’6’’ Malibu, 3 months old, perfect for beginners to intermediates
• 6’6’’ shortboard, about 2 years old, rather intermediate to advanced
- 2 spare tyres
- bullbar to hit kangaroos or bulls, obviously. Can be used to avoid car damage
- interior skylights – best when it gets dark at night, which it does sometimes
- lots and lots of space under and over the bed, since it is a long based vehicle
- spare battery and jumper leads – always useful
- storage boxes for personal or whatever stuff
- camping gear including 2 stove gas cooker with crockery and cutlery for 4 people, 3 camping chairs and a foldable table as well as a tent and a huge esky
- toolbox for everyday needs
- countless maps and a Lonely Planet if you don’t have one already
- 5 L water esky - nothing beats refreshing cool water on a hot day
- 20 L jerrycan - an extra fueltank for emergencies
We love to negotiate. So do you, I suppose, but AU$ 4900 should be a fair price to start with.
Ready to go wherever you want or end up in Australia.
