Hi everybody,
I am looking for some advice or second opinion about many things which are worrying me at the moment.
I wrote the IELTS last week. I will get my results on Thursday. Really sure that I won't get a high score, maybe only a 6.
On searching for information about the visa possibilities I have in order to stay here for work, I found that the only possibilities are the visas 175, 176, 457 or 475. It seems so that for some of them I need to pass a points test of 65 points.
As I am already 39 years old (my next birthday is in May), 4 years and 8 months work experience as IT Consultant, got the German nationality, Bachelor's (German) Degree, IELTS (probably 6, so score=0 points) my score according to the point system criteria is only 45. In order to get a score of 65 I would need an IELTS score of 8 in all modules. Totally difficult and unreachable for me, more so because I am not an English native speaker.
For the Sponsored Visa I need a Sponsor, what is difficult to find as most of the companies prefer permanent residents to overseas workers without permanent residence.
Someone was suggesting me to enroll in university and get a job, no matter if the job is only temporary and not related to my work expectations (salary, exactly what I did in the past), but at least in the IT area. I find this a bad idea, as I would need to write the Academic IELTS and get at least 6.5. With a student visa I would be entitled to work only 20 hours a week. Studies here are extremely expensive, especially for foreigners.
Another suggestion of him was to get in contact with an Immigration Agent, which minimal would cost $1500 and as he says, would be a guarantee to stay here longer.
I don't know what to do. I only know that I need a job and of course, it would make me happy to stay here longer but with a job according to my expectations and without necessarily having to resort to the methods he suggested.
What do you think about it?.
I would appreciate any advice
