Volcanic ash from an eruption in Chile has now grounded some flights within Australia and to New Zealand.

Qantas has cancelled all flights in and out of Tasmania and the return flights between Sydney and Christchurch and Sydney and Queenstown.

Jetstar has cancelled over 20 flights scheduled for this morning, including flights to Hobart, Launceston, the trans-Tasman flights linking Sydney and Melbourne to Christchurch and Queenstown as well as several of its domestic New Zealand service flights.
