    • West MacDonnell National Park - Buschfeuer Update

      Dienstag, 04.09.2012

Due to an uncontrolled wildfire in the western half of the West MacDonnell National Park, we advise operators not to walk sections 11 & 12 of the Larapinta Trail until further notice.

Access to Redbank Gorge is CLOSED due to a wildfire in the vincinity.

Access to Ellery Creek, Ormiston Gorge and 2 mile remains OPEN.

Due to an increase in winds and temperatures during the week, this fire is likely to burn for a number of days. NT Parks and Wildlife will update this information as soon as conditions change. For further advice or enquiries, please call the Ormiston Gorge Ranger Station on 08 8956 7799.

      Warm Regards

    • Access to sections 7 through to 12 of the Larapinta Trail is now OPEN WITH CAUTION. The Ormiston Gorge Road, Ochre Pits and the Finke River at Glen Helen (2-mile) are now OPEN.

Serpentine Gorge and Redbank Gorge are both OPEN WITH CAUTION due to the chance of falling timber.

      Thanks,
      Phil
