unter diesem Thema werde ich ab heute, so wie ich es auch früher schon gemacht habe, die Newsletter der Koalahilfe Deutschland veröffentlichen. 1-2x im Monat informiere ich Euch, was es Neues gibt, informiere Euch über Veranstaltungen und gebe Infos vom Koalahospital in Port Macquarie und aus den Zoos und Tiergärten, die Koalas halten und züchten, weiter.
Ich hoffe auf eine gute Zusammenarbeit.

3. Newsletter der Koalahilfe Deutschland vom 24.02.2025

Aus dem Koala Hospital gibt es gute Neuigkeiten. Am 19.02.2025 begann nach der Erteilung der Baugenehmigung das Ausschreibungsverfahren für den Umbau und die Modernisierung des Koala Hospitals.Die Freunde im Hospital freuen sich, dass es nun endlich Wirklichkeit wird und sich damit vieles zum Guten ändern wird. Die Pflege geht natürlich weiter, denn die Koalas aus dem Hospital ziehen für die Dauer der Bauarbeiten in das neue Koalazuchtzentrum Ende 2026 sollen die Arbeiten abgeschlossen sein. Mehr dazu könnt ihr auf der Homepage der Koalahilfe (www.koala-hilfe.de) in der neuen Rubrik „Hospital News“ lesen. Dort werde ich auch in Zukunft Texte von der Seite des Hospitals übersetzen und einbinden.
Des weiteren kann ich Euch mitteilen, dass sich mittlerweile 3 Buchverlage gefunden haben, die mit der Koalahilfe zusammen arbeiten. Diese Verlage haben mir Bücher zur Verfügung gestellt, die Ihr im Koala-Shop käuflich erwerben könnt. Mehr dazu und die Links zum Koala-Shop findet Ihr in der Rubrik „Sponsoren“.
Ein großer Sponsor in den Anfangsjahren der Koalahilfe war der Steve-Parish-Verlag aus Australien. Ich habe versucht, das Sortiment des Verlages wieder ein wenig aufzufrischen. Auf Nachfrage hat mir Steve aber mitgeteilt, dass der Verlag die Corona-Zeit leider nicht überlebt hat. Es gibt auch keine Lagerbestände mehr, auf die er zurück greifen könnte. Auch im Internet ist sehr wenig zu finden. Im Koala-Shop gibt es aber immer noch viele Artikel. Also schaut unbedingt mal vorbei.
Die neuen T-Shirts und auch der Kalender für 2026 sind in Planung, benötigen aber noch etwas Zeit. Ich informiere Euch, wenn alles online ist.
Mittlerweile habe ich wieder zu allen Zoos und Tiergärten in Deutschland und Österreich, die Koalas halten und züchten, Kontakt. Besonders in Duisburg und in der Wilhelma hat sich einiges ereignet. Bild und Textmaterial gibt es in den entsprechenden Zoo-Rubriken auf meiner Homepage. Die Rubrik „Koalas in den Medien“ füllt sich auch immer mehr. Es lohnt sich vorbei zu schauen.
Seit letzter Woche ist die Koalahilfe auch auf Instagram zu finden. Ich werde dort Bilder und kleine Filme von meinem Urlaub 2023 in Australien und Neuseeland posten. Über einen Besuch würde ich mich freuen.

3. Newsletter from Koalahilfe Deutschland dated February 24, 2025
There is good news from the Koala Hospital. On February 19, 2025, after the building permit was granted, the tendering process for the renovation and modernization of the Koala Hospital began. The friends at the hospital are happy that it is finally becoming a reality and that many things will change for the better. Of course, the care will continue, because the koalas from the hospital are moving to the new koala breeding center for the duration of the construction work. The work is scheduled to be completed at the end of 2026. You can read more about this on the Koalahilfe homepage (koala-hilfe.de) in the new “Hospital News” section. I will continue to translate and integrate texts from the hospital’s website there in the future.
I can also tell you that 3 book publishers have now been found who are working with Koalahilfe. These publishers have provided me with books that you can buy in the Koala Shop. You can find more about this and the links to the Koala Shop in the “Sponsors” section.
A major sponsor in the early years of Koala Aid was the Steve Parish Publishing House from Australia. I tried to refresh the publisher’s range a little. When I asked, Steve told me that the publisher unfortunately did not survive the Corona period. There is also no stock left that it could fall back on. There is also very difficult to be found on the Internet. But there are still many items in the Koala Shop. So be sure to stop by.

I am now back in contact with all the zoos and animal parks in Germany and Austria that keep and breed koalas. A lot has happened in Duisburg and the Wilhelma in particular. Since last week, Koalahilfe has also been on Instagram. I will post pictures and short films from my vacation in Australia and New Zealand 2023 there. I would be delighted if you would visit me.
