Immigration South Australia (SA) has announced changes to the sponsorship arrangements for the Skilled Regional Sponsored Subclass 475.

    Concessional English

Immigration SA is now accepting applications for provisional state sponsorship (visa subclasses (475/487) under the Concessional English provision.

This means that those applicants who are not able to meet the English language requirements for Vocational or Competent English may be able to qualify for migration through obtaining sponsorship from South Australia.

To meet Concessional English provisions, applicants must obtain an overall band score of 5.5, in which they obtained not less than 5.0 for listening, 5.0 for reading, 4.5 for writing, and 4.5 for reading.

Applicants must pay a fee to TAFE South Australia, as the relevant education provider, prior to making their application to DIAC. This fee is separate to DIAC visa application charges.

For more information about this Provision, including the criteria, program details, and application process, please refer to Immigration SA fact sheet: http://www.immigration.sa.gov.au/pdfs/gsm/07.Co…onalEnglish.pdf

    Revised Occupations List

A revised List of Occupations for provisional visa sponsorship has been announced. The changes will take effect immediately. However, if you have already submitted an application on-line under an occupation that has been removed, the application will remain valid for 60 days. If all the supporting documents are not received by Immigration SA by that time, the application will expire.

If an application has already been approved, the applicant has currently six (6) months to lodge the visa application with DIAC or the approval will lapse. The revised list will not affect applications that have already been approved.

Please refer to the revised list for details:

    Validity of Sponsorship

Immigration South Australia has also amended the validity of the sponsorship applications from six (6) months to one (1) month. This means that visa applications must be lodged with DIAC within one month of the sponsorship approval date.
