Anyone for a ride?

The amount of training Bernd Marx has done in the last six months would put many cyclists to shame.
But don’t expect to see the 59-year-old German on a criterium starting line any time soon, despite riding more than 1000km a week in training.
Nope, Bernd is going bush.
A world authority on explorer and countryman Ludwig Leichhardt, Bernd will head for the Queensland bush today, on the $1000 pushbike he picked up in Maroochydore yesterday, to follow part of Leichhardt’s route from Jimbour, near Dalby, to Port Essington, east of Darwin.
