The Director of National Parks and Wildlife, has authorised the closure to the public the national parks and reserves in the Mount Lofty Ranges and Fleurieu Peninsula from:
Midnight on Friday, 6 February 2009 to Midnight on Saturday, 7 February 2009
All vehicle entry points will be closed and the public are advised not to enter any of the parks via walking trails or any other means.
The following exceptions apply:
Mount Lofty Summit
Cleland Wildlife Park
Recreation Zone, Belair National Park
Access to Waitpinga and Parsons Beaches within Newland Head Conservation Park
Granite Island Recreation Park
The purpose of the closure is to ensure the safety of the public during this period of extreme fire risk.
