ja das ist der Hammer, aber eben dieser Herr ist ja sowieso bekannt für seine ungewöhnliche Lebenseinstellung/ Führung. Meine Oma hätte gesagt, den Bock zum Gärtner machen.

Let's say you run a large German company (e.g. Volkswagon or Bosch). You are looking for a new global sales representative. Most definitely you would be looking for someone with excellent English skills.
German companies regularly interview applicants for such positions in English.Now let's say you run a large German-speaking country (e.g. Germany). You are looking for a new foreign minister. Wouldn't you also want someone someone with excellent English skills for the position?
