Die "Thank You Camel Expedition" ist fast am Ziel!

Russell, Ros und ihre 8 Kamele haben es nach 18 Monaten nun fast geschafft!
In Frankston sind sie mittlerweile schon, am 22. November werden sie in der Swanston Street erwartet -- die groesste Kamelexpedition, die Melbourne seit Burke und Wills zu sehen bekommen hat!

This is getting exciting now. We are so close to Frankston and the beach where we will have successfully completed a trans-continental expedition of a proportion not seen since the Afghan Cameleer days.
The weather has been extremely hot and it has taken it's toll on us and the camels but in saying that, everyone has been absolutely fantastic in their support for the expedition and it's intention of saying thank you to Moira Kelly for her amazing life of service to children in need.

Als Russel mir das erste Mal von seinen Plaenen fuer diese Expedition erzaehlte, vor gefuehlten Lichtjahren, war ich hin- und hergerissen. Meine Gedanken reichten von 'das ist Wahnsinn' bis 'Russell hat schon ganz andere Sachen geschafft'.
Ich freu mich wahnsinnig fuer die Beiden -- und fuer Moira Kelly und die Kinder -- dass ihr grosser Traum in Erfuellung gegangen ist!

Hi!

Vor zwei Jahren durfte ich bei einem der Vorbereitungstreks von Russ und Ros dabei sein.
Für übernächste Woche suchen die beiden noch praktisch veranlagte Menschen um ihnen ehrenamtlich dabei zu Helfen, ihren Zieleinlauf ins Melbourne CBD möglichst sicher zu gestalten:

[COLOR=darkred]DO YOU KNOW ANYONE IN MELBOURNE THAT MAY WANT TO HELP?
We are looking for people to help along the way over the next week. We need practical helpers.
1 - People who would like to walk with the camel train and pick up poo along the way. We will provide all equipment for this. They will just need to bring their garden gloves. Brilliant opportunity to hang out with the camels along the forshore of Port Phillip Bay and be a part of the crew for this amazing expedition helping the Children First Foundation.
2 - People who would like to volunteer to help escort the camels along some of the streets of Melbourne. We will provide road signs, bike track signs, tie on signs for the escort car, flashing lights for the car that is magnetised to stick to the top of the car and powered by your cigarette lighter. We have a couple of helpers already, but may need a couple more.

If you have a spare 4 hours between the 16th Nov - 25th Nov, let us know. I know most of you are not in Melbourne, but you may know someone who would love to be a part of this, so let me know as soon as you can as time is really running out. If you know anyone, they can call me or Russ on Russ's phone -*

Hallo Daluk,

GROSSARTIG!

Harry und ich haben Russell und Ros vor ca. 14 Monaten auf der Gary Junction Road getroffen (ca. 40 km vor Kiwirrkurra, in Richtung Alice Springs) und hatten viel Spaß mit den beiden und den Kamelen. Wir haben die Expedition mit ein paar Extra-Supplies unterstützt. Man glaubt gar nicht, wie sich zwei Menschen über eine Packung TimTams freuen können.
Und sogar unsere EPA-Spende fand dankbare Begeisterung.

*Diese Anmerkung vor allem in Richtung Ketty!!!*
