Folgende Veranstaltungen erwarten die Gäste:
1. Australia Day: I Come From A Land Down Under
Armchair Tour around the Australian Continent
A native speaker from Down Under is set to take you on an intriguing journey around her homeland - the Australian continent. Discover magnificent landscapes and unique flora and fauna all in the comfort of your own chair! Hear about Australia's interesting history, see how people live in big cities and the Australian outback, visit famous sights and meet some true blue Aussies during this one and half hour tour. 11-12:30 Uhr
2.Australia Day: First Australians - Aboriginal Culture and History
Slide Show and Film Excerpts in Easy English
Come and explore one of the world's oldest cultures, the dreamtime, their history and ways of life. Find out about their fascinating art, languages and customs, as well as their first turbulent encounters with European settlers. With pictures and film excerpts we will also uncover interesting and very recent developments in the relationship between Australia's indigenous people and white Australia. 13- 14:30 Uhr
3. Australia Day: English for Down Under
Introductory Workshop
Why do Australians sound the way they do? Where did the Australian accent come from? Find out about these interesting facts as well as a range of idioms, expressions and colourful words you will no doubt be faced with while travelling Down Under. Through fun, interactive activities, film excerpts and music, you'll discover the everyday English language as used by regular Aussies. Come and experience English used in a way you never thought possible! 15-16:30 Uhr
Alle drei Veranstaltungen finden in der Auer Schulstr. 20, Wuppertal Elberfeld statt. Es ist keine Anmeldung erforderlich, jeder Kurs kostet 5 Euro oder 12 Euro für alle 3 zusammen.
