Re-entry of baby without Australian passport

Hi,

My question is in relation to re-entering Australia with a newborn that doesn't have the Australian passport yet.

We're two Germans living in Sydney with a newborn and have received the German passport for the baby already. Our assumption is that we'll be able to board our flight to Germany on Tuesday and enter Germany (to be confirmed with airlines).

Since there was an error with our application for the baby's Australian passport, this has dragged on. Our first attempts to get a temporary one has also been rejected (again, for reasons we don't agree with but not worth explaining here). We're now running out of time and might not be able to get the temporary Australian one either before our flight this Tuesday.

Provided Jetstar will take us to Phuket and Emirates from Phuket to Frankfurt, does anyone know what we need to expect when trying to re-enter Australia without an Australian passport for the baby once we return?

Quick responses will be appreciated and massive thanks in advance to anyone who can provide advise.

Die Wiedereinreise erscheint mir da das kleinere Problem, als dass ihr beim Rueckflug in Deutschland gar nicht erst ins Flugzeug gelassen werdet...

Denke auch dass das Problem das abfliegen in D wird. Zwar etwas anders, aber mir wurde als
PR in D fast die Ausreise bzw das einsteigen ins Flugzeug verweigert weil mein neuer Deutscher Pass Mit dem ich Aus verlassen hatte immer noch nicht mit meiner PR verlinkt war (obwohl ich das schon vo Abreise schriftlich beantragt hatte).
Die Airlines kriegen fette Strafen wenn sie jemanden mitnehmen der kein Visa hat.
Bei mir haben sie da die Botschaft abgerufen und konnten es bestätigen und die PR wurde direkt manuell zu meinem neuen Spaß verlinkt.

Erkundigt euch direkt bei der Botschaft? Hoffentlich kommt der Pass noch!

Interessant, dass der deutsche Pass schneller da war als der australische. Da muss ja einiges schief gegangen sein.

Wie die anderen schon geschrieben haben, ist das Risiko nicht unerheblcih, dass ihr Probleme bei der Rueckreise bekommen werdet. Wenn euer Routing fuer den Rueckflug aehnlich ist, wie das auf dem Hinflug, dann haengt ihr in Asien fest.

Natuerlich koennt ihr drauf hoffen, dass euch die australische Botschaft in Deutschland ein Dokument besorgt, mit dem euer Kind nach Australien einreisen darf. Aber ob das gut funktioniert, wenn es hier schon solche Probleme gab?
