      Hi leuts,

      noch ne frage.:


      wie sieht das mit obst und gemüse aus,wenn ich mit den Wohnmobil von

      NT nach QL fahre , gibbets da kontrollen,da man ja dieses nicht mit nehmen darf.

      mir wurde erzählt , das da sogar mit hunden kontolliert wird,is dies wirklich so schlimm oder machen die nur stichproben.


      und wie sieht es aus wenn man was dabei hat,einfach in die tonne , oder ????

    • Ja , das mit dem Obst ist mir schon öfters passiert , von NT nach Queensland. Ich habe mich immer unwissend gestellt und habe auch nie eine Strafe bezahlt.Mir wurde zur Wahl gestellt , sofort das ganz Obst aufessen oder vernichten. Habe gefragt warum? In Queensland hat man sehr große Angst vor der Fruchtfliege? Den Rest Obst den ich nicht sofort gegessen habe , haben sie dann in einer Plastic Sack mitgenommen.

    • Innerhalb QLD ist mir bloss ein einziger Checkpoint für Früchte (fruit fly) bekannt, nämlich vor Laura auf dem Weg zu Cape York.
      Gibt's da noch tatsächlich weitere?

    • Ja , schon 2x mal , sind immer mit 3 Bushcamper unterwegs , als ob sie es auf uns abgesehen haben. Papiere vorzeigen und dann wurde gefragt nach Obst. Angehalten wurden wir , zwischen Mount Isa und Clonrurry Richtung Townsville.

    • als ich von den blue Mountains nach Adelaide gefahren bin, kam ich auch an einen Checkpoint für Früchte, ich Depp hatte mir gerade 5min vorher n Beutel mit Obst gekauft und die Hinweise auf die "fruit fly free zone" ahead nicht beachtet.

      Musste alles in einen Korb schmeissen, bis auf....pssst...in meinem Esky lagen noch n paar Bananen, aber nicht weitersagen... :D

    • Qurantaine Bestimmungen koennen sich auch innerhalb Queensland aendern .
      es muessen nicht unbedingt Stationaere Kontrollstellen sein .

      vor 2-3 Jahren war die gegend um Emerald unter Qurantaine gestellt worden . wegen einem ausbruch von : Citrus Canker , einer Pflanzen Krankheit . es durften keine Zitrus Fruechte aus der Emerald Gegend ausgefuehrt werden .


      Beschraenkungen fuer Bananen gibt es an vielen Stellen innerhalb Quennlands und New South Wales .

      Auch wenn nicht immer kontrolliert wird, würde ich jedem ans Herz legen die Bestimmungen zu beachten. Ein Freund von uns ist Farmer in Westaustralien. Er verlor durch einen eingeschleppte Pflanzenschädling seine gesamte Ernte. Nur schwer konnte er sich über Wasser halten. Der Schaden warf in und seine Familie um Jahre der Arbeit zurück.
      Darum nehmt die Einfuhrverbote ernst.

      zum Thema Früchte:

      Quarantine Regulations & Checkpoints
      Regulations and restrictions are in place throughout Australia relating to the transporting of fruit, fruit boxes, honey, vegetables and so on across state borders. Many people are unaware of these restrictions and are disappointed to have to place fresh produce in disposal bins at checkpoints. Most checkpoints are manned, but in some locations such as on the Great Central Road, the checkpoints are honesty boxes.


      Western Australia Quarantine Checkpoints
      Eucla - tightly enforced regulations for travellers entering WA via the Nullarbor. All fruit - fresh or dried will be confiscated as will vegetables, honey and fruit boxes. Contact (08) 9039 3227 for further information.

      Kununurra - NT/WA border on the Victoria Highway also has very strict quarantine regulations that are enforced. See agric.wa.gov.au

      Halls Creek - on the approach to the Great Northern Highway from the south (ie. if you have come up the Tanami Track from NT) you will find a Quarantine bin on the left just before the bitumen. You will be required to deposit all fruit, vegetables, honey and fruit boxes if you are en-route from NT or SA. WA travellers do not need to deposit anything at this checkpoint provided they have not left the state.


      Queensland Quarantine Checkpoints
      Within Queensland bananas, mangoes and other fruit and vegetables cannot be taken onto the Cape York peninsula. This is done to stop the spread of specific exotic diseases. See dpi.qld.gov.au or phone Dept of Primary Industries (DPI) or Phone: 13 25 23 (cost of a local call within Queensland) or +61 7 3404 6999

      Some stores (eg. Woolworths) can provide you with a DPI certificate for your produce if you ask for it at the time of purchase. This is presented at the checkpoints to avoid having your food confiscated.

      All entry ports have strict quarantine regulations.

      NSW, Victoria and SA Quarantine Checkpoints
      All travellers need to be aware that there is a zone across these 3 states called the "Fruit Fly Exclusion Zone". The Fruit Fly Exclusion zone means it is illegal to take ANY fresh fruit - including tomatoes, capsicum and avocadoes into any area within the zone. Random roadblocks operate within the zone and $200 minimum on the spot fines apply.
