QUEENSLAND Premier Anna Bligh and her new-look ministry were sworn in at Government House in Brisbane today.
The biggest surprise in the Cabinet was the elevation of local government, planning and sport minister Andrew Fraser to the role of treasurer.
The 30-year-old is the state's second-youngest treasurer and has only been in Cabinet since last September's state election.
Ms Bligh arrived at Government House this morning accompanied by husband Greg Withers, children Joe and Oliver and mother Fran Tancred.
Ms Bligh said before the ceremony with Governor Quentin Bryce that it was a "terrific day".
Former transport and main roads minister Paul Lucas was sworn in as deputy premier and takes on the "super portfolio" of infrastructure and planning - named by Ms Bligh as one of the new Government's priorities.
State Development, Employment and Industrial Relations Minister John Mickel has been given a second mega-portfolio, adding transport and trade.
The local government portfolio has been handed to former communities, disability services, seniors and youth minister Warren Pitt, who will also take main roads.
Mr Pitt's former responsibilities have been handed to former environment and multiculturalism minister Lindy Nelson-Carr.
Sport has been added to Judy Spence's duties, and she retains the police and corrective services portfolio.
Hervey Bay MP Andrew McNamara, the only new addition to the Cabinet, has been given the new portfolio of sustainability, climate change and innovation, to reflect growing concerns about global warming.
Margaret Keech, the former minister for tourism, fair trading, wine, industry and women, has had her role streamlined.
She retains the women portfolio, and takes child safety responsibilities from Desley Boyle.
Ms Boyle is new minister for tourism, regional development and industry.
The rest of the Cabinet was unchanged
